For the New Believer

There are simple principles that every young believer who comes to Christ must understand in order to be firmly rooted in the Lord. I will post simple teachings on here to help you understand who Jesus really is and what Jesus asks of us. If any of the teachings seems too hard, keep in mind that even Jesus’ disciples said the same thing to Him (see John 6:60-65), some of which left Him afterward. Will you leave Him, too…? I pray that you do not, but that is not a choice I can make for you, for my task is simply to serve Jesus faithfully by giving you the Truth. It is your task to count the cost….

I am going to be very blunt and let you know right off the bat that being a true follower of Christ comes with a price, but the reward (eternity in God’s Kingdom) that we will receive far outweighs the price we must pay (complete submission to God) in this very, very, very short life we live here on earth. I guarantee you we will suffer and we will go through trials, tribulations, and even persecutions (some are being martyred for the faith right now as I write this – please keep these faithful brothers and sisters in your prayers; they will not be forgotten), but God is Faithful and will help us through. There is a Greater Purpose behind these trials and tribulations: they work for our good (see Romans 8:28) and are preparing us for the Kingdom (see Acts 14:21-22).

Are you ready to carry your cross?

Then Jesus said to His disciples, If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.

For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.

For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? (Matthew 16:24-26 NKJV)

So we begin:
